ISSRT 75th Annual Conference at the Marriott Hotel in Normal, IL April 14-17, 2010.
74th Annual ISSRT Conference
Springfield, Illinois
This year’s ISSRT annual conference was held at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield, Illinois. There were over 400 members in attendance. The highlight of the conference was the live telecast from the OSF Saint Francis Heart Hospital Interventional Pulmonary Lab which offered a unique and exciting learning experience for attendees. A live bronchoscopy with fine needle and transbronchial aspirations using two new technologies—Endo Bronchial Ultrasound (Olympus-EBUS) and inReach Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy (SuperDimension) — was viewed. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with the three physicians as the procedure was being performed.
In addition, there were twelve quality educational presentations available for those registered for the conference. For students in attendance, there was a review session that is being expanded for next year’s conference, the scholar bowl competition, recruiters, three essays presented, and 45 educational displays to view.
